The President’s Cup
You are invited to the second international karate tournament “The President’s Cup” devoted to the memory of Heydar Aliyev – the national leader of Azerbaijan Republic. Istanbul Open
The Open Commercial Tournament “Istanbul Open”, the prize fund of which amounts to Euro 105.000 was held in Turkey on 7-9 September. Sportsmen have competed in seven weight categories among cadets and adults. Our team generally was represented by cadets, since they have to participate in the World Championship in October which will be held also in Istanbul. The first place was taken by the leader of the national team Rafael Agayev in weight category up to 70 kg. Other sportsmen were unsuccessful, although it should be noted that they have passed several rounds and Aliyev Sanan was defeated by the sportsman from Turkey in the fight for entry to semifinal. more...

Banzai Cup
Azerbaijan karate sportsmen were successful in “Banzai Cup” competition, finished in Berlin on 22 September. Our team has won three gold medals. Said Guliyev (50 kg, competition of karate sportsmen under 15 years) has won all eight fights, Sanan Aliyev (60 kg, U-18) was stronger in five fights and Rafael Agayev (70 kg, adults) in four fights. In total 578 sportsmen from 13 world countries participated in competition in Berlin. more...
